ALIEN LEADER: You have boarded our ship uninvited. State your identity and intentions.

YOU: I am Captain James Kirk of the Starship Enterprise. We are members of the Federation of Planets. This is my chief medical officer Dr. McCoy, Chief Helmsman, Lt Sulu, and Chief Engineer Lt Cmdr Montgomery Scott.

We detected your ship adrift in space. We investigated and our sensors showed no life signs aboard. We transported over to ascertain what happened, and who the ship belonged to so we could notify your home world of the discovered ship. We had no idea the ship was inhabited. When we transported over, we surprised your crew and they reacted before we could explain.

ALIEN LEADER: We are the Tagarr of the Lorarian Federation of Species. I am Leader, Arnon. Overseer of this ship.

YOU: What's happened to your ship?

ARNON: Our systems sustained an attack in the computer main processing arrays. It has shut down all services needed to operate. We only have auxiliary power enough to maintain life support.

Your presence here further complicates our already stressed situation. However, we wish to extend our invitation to join LFS.

YOU: My people have already joined the Federation of Planets.

ARNON: A decision of this importance shall not be made lightly. You will be given more time to consider our proposal, or stand as an enemy of the Lorarian Federation. You will be taken back to your holding cubical. You will be fed and then, you will come before me to accept our invitation.

BONES: That might not be such a good idea. We don't know who or what we're dealing with. We should play it safe and sit tight.
